We tell our students, if you want to be great filmmakers; study the greats, watch great films, learn the craft in which you are passionate, and get educated in whatever way you can. Not everyone has the opportunity to go to film school or an Ivy League College. Now days we have access to resources at the touch of our finger tips. The problem can be sifting through copious amounts of data and not knowing where to start.
speropictures has set out with the goal of equipping and empowering others to achieve their dreams. Everyone has to start somewhere. It takes vision, perseverance, preparedness, and dedication to accomplish what you set out to do. In film-making it also takes a good team, equipment, and problem solving skills. We have found if you can get people to believe in themselves, they will do amazing things. Having emotional support along with the finances, we plan on watching humanity excel in every area including integrity, excellence, and artistic quality.
While we teach classes in our community we also put in hours of volunteer work supporting those who are going after their dreams. We have opened up our business as a place to house those pursuing film making. We have partnered with our good friend Michael Skilleter and volunteered as teachers/mentors for the past three years under Theresa Dedmon's creative arts track at BSSM. In doing so we provide equipment, resources, relationships, and skill sets to allow for our students to achieve a finished short film. We have had the privilege of watching hundreds of people grow into their destinies as they've discovered a purpose and passion.

Over the years we have expanded and have now taken on interns to help facilitate the ever growing film community. We have been working to build curriculum as a way to enhance our teaching techniques. This will by no means take away from personal contact and the importance of relationships. Investing in people is paramount.
We ourselves are continually seeking education. We want to stay apprised of new technology, advancement in equipment, and modern techniques to add to our tool belt. This past year we went on a week long screen writing cruise and sat under the teachings of Barbara Nicolosi and Vicki Peterson from story catharsis. As we are a family company, our students benefit and our children come along on the adventure.
